Die fremde Reformation

Luthers mystische Wurzeln
The Reformation is seen as a caesura that ended the Middle Ages. Volker Leppin, on the other hand, shows that the young Luther was one of many mystical writers and shows us a Reformation that is much more medieval and alien than the master narratives of this “upheaval” would like to admit. The posting of the theses in Wittenberg, the primal scene of the history of the Reformation, did not take place.
